Chichén Itzá is beautiful. Have your children studied it? It would be an amazing cultural lesson.
If you are interested in Mayan ruins, I highly recommend Palenque (it is unbelievable!!) or Uxmal (before you are too old or too scared to get up el piramide del divino!!) Mexico is such an amazing and beautiful country!
